Triton Cove State Park

visited 3 October 2021

Triton Cove is apparently famous for its sunrises, but … alas … that was not on offer when I visited.

I’m perhaps a contrarian in Washington in that I enjoy our cloudy days, too. I find that they make for fun texture studies and that was what I found when I visited Triton Cove.

A gravel path leads through a grassy clearing toward a wooden footbridge with handrails, flanked by tall evergreen conifers under an overcast gray sky at Triton Cove State Park.
A floating dock and boat ramp extend into calm gray water under an overcast sky, with an orange life ring hanging from a wooden post on the rocky shore to the right. Across the inlet, a forested point dotted with waterfront homes is visible beneath heavy clouds.
A panoramic view of a quiet cove under an overcast gray sky, with a concrete boat launch ramp on the left and a wide expanse of rocky, oyster-strewn shoreline on the right. A single tall wooden or metal piling rises from the calm water, with tree-covered hills and distant shoreline homes along the far side.
A rocky, oyster-strewn shoreline at low tide under an overcast gray sky, with tall evergreen conifers rising from a wooded bluff and a calm inlet with distant tree-lined shore and scattered houses to the left.
A rocky, barnacle-covered shoreline at low tide under an overcast gray sky, with tall evergreen trees crowding the right side of the frame and calm cove water stretching to a distant forested shore dotted with houses and a dock.
