Pleasant Harbor State Park Property

visited 17 November 2021

Pleasant Harbor is a small state park. It looks like it’s mostly intended for boaters looking for a place to stay for a night or two.

On nearby US 101, there’s no signage to point to this park. With a little guesswork (and a well-informed maps app), I was able to find the parking lot and walk out onto the park’s dock and take a few pictures.

A paved parking area at the edge of a forested bluff, with tall evergreen trees casting long shadows across the asphalt and sunlight filtering through the branches. A brown sign reading “Pleasant Harbor State Park” stands beside a wooden fence, with a calm blue harbor visible through the trees below.
A brown “Pleasant Harbor State Park” sign on a wooden post stands among tall evergreen trees, with a metal-grated ramp and wooden-railed walkway leading down toward calm blue-green harbor water in the background.
A weathered concrete picnic table sits in a dappled clearing on a forested hillside, surrounded by cedar and fir trees, ferns, and ground scattered with fallen needles and mossy rocks.
A seemingly-little used picnic table.
A wooden pier with light-colored railings and a metal grate walkway extends out over calm green water, framed by overhanging evergreen branches, with a forested shoreline and moored boats visible across the harbor under a blue sky.
A calm harbor shoreline lined with dense evergreen conifers under a vivid deep-blue sky with wispy clouds, a small wooden dock jutting into the water, and a rocky, grass-topped point extending into the bay on the right.
A metal floating dock extends toward the camera from a tree-lined shore, connecting via a ramp to a wooden gangway and pilings at the water’s edge. Dense evergreen conifers rise behind the calm green water under a deep blue sky.
A quiet marina with motor yachts and sailboats moored at docks on calm water, backed by a dense evergreen forest and low hills under a blue sky streaked with wispy clouds. Several white and dark-hulled boats line the foreground, with the vessels named “Gari-Lo” and “Full Moon” visible.

The adjacent marina would really like you to know what’s state park and what’s private marina.

Two red-and-white signs mounted on a conifer trunk near a wooded waterfront, the upper reading “Private Marina Property No Trespassing, Tenants Only” and the lower a parking directional sign pointing left for State Park and right for Private Marina, with a moss-covered rope strung between trees and water glimpsed through the evergreens.
