Located on the Columbia River a few miles north of Wenatchee, Daroga State Park offers sandy beaches, camp sites, and some easy trails along the water.

When I visited on this summer afternoon, it was nearly 100°. Plenty of people were finding some form of relief on or in the water.

A calm stretch of the Columbia River bordered by a grassy shoreline and tall poplar trees, with a small beach where a few people relax and swim under a yellow umbrella. Arid, treeless brown hills rise across the water beneath a clear deep-blue sky.
